Tales From The Bridge: THE MISFIT

“Tales From The Bridge” is a short abstract film with no dialogue—an atmospheric drift between dream and memory, stillness and motion. Set against the surreal textures of Tokyo, it traces desire, dislocation, and the effortlessness of the protagonist, an outsider - THE MISFIT - played by IPPEI TANAKA- moving freely through a world built on control.

Conceived, directed, and creatively led by Boa Campbell, the film unfolds through the eyes of someone who moves between worlds—shaped by a hybrid sensibility that threads through every layer of production. From story concept and casting to cinematography (with key support from trusted ACs and fellow DOPs), photography, location sourcing, and production management, each element reflects a perspective forged at the intersection of cultures, rhythms, and emotional codes. Every visual decision—color, costume, texture, space—was made in close dialogue with the emotional undercurrent of the work.

Brought to life by a tight-knit Japanese and international team, the film reflects the raw intuition and deep craft of each collaborator. Special thanks to the cinematographers and creative partners whose instincts and artistry helped sharpen the world of the piece.

This marks the film’s first public release.
